River People Health Center Dental program is a leading edge Dental program in which more current services in oral health care will be offered to our patients. The goal is to provide the best oral health care in a compassionate and supportive environment while upholding the tribal spiritual beliefs for present and future generations.

Dental Program Services

Removable dentures, Removable partials, night guards, crowns. Missing and extracted (removed) teeth are replaced with artificial teeth (dentures/partials), and crowns.

Root canal treatment (RCT) is designed to eliminate bacteria from the infected root canal, prevent reinfection of the tooth and save the natural tooth.

Tooth colored filling material is placed where decay was removed and a white filling material fills the space to restore the tooth structure.

Tooth extractions/orthodontic extractions for established patients. An extraction means to have a tooth removed, usually because of disease, trauma or crowding in the mouth. No implant services offered at this time.

Services including routine cleanings, sealants, fluoride application and treatment for gum disease.

Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF) is a clear liquid that can be used to help prevent cavities from growing, particularly in children.

Patients who walk in for same-day care will be treated the same day to help relieve pain. Please note that depending on the diagnosis, treatment may require more than one visit.

To schedule a same-day dental appointment, patients must physically come to the RPHC Dental Clinic between
Monday–Friday, 7 AM to 6 PM.

The dental department has 20 chairs ready for your care. We provide all imaging services, including X-rays and panoramic X-rays, right here in the department. We also offer nitrous for patients who need it to make dental procedures more comfortable.

General Dentist

Dr. Kristine Angeles earned her undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of California, Irvine. She went on to attend the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health in Mesa, where she received a scholarship from the National Health Service Corps.

Dr. Angeles graduated at the top of her class and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon dental honor society, a distinction recognizing academic excellence and professionalism in dentistry. She is committed to providing high-quality, patient-centered dental care to the community.

General Dentist

Dr. Kianna Memaran is originally from Seattle, Washington, and earned her Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the College of Dental Medicine at Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona.

She has practiced as an associate dentist in various private dental offices throughout Arizona and brings a strong foundation of clinical experience to her work. Dr. Memaran is excited and honored to serve the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community and is committed to providing compassionate, high-quality dental care.

General Dentist

Dr. David Meyer was born and raised in Northern California and earned a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from California State University, Sacramento. He later moved to Glendale, Arizona, to attend Midwestern University, where he completed a Master’s in Biomedical Sciences.

Dr. Meyer received a four-year Health Professions Scholarship from the Indian Health Service and earned his Doctorate in Dental Medicine from Midwestern University. He is dedicated to providing accessible, high-quality dental care and is proud to serve Native communities.

General Dentist

Dr. Shemal Shukla was born in India and raised in Arizona. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from Arizona State University and completed his Doctor of Dental Medicine at Midwestern University, graduating at the top of his class.

Dr. Shukla is a recipient of the National Health Service Corps Scholarship and a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon national dental honor society. He brings several years of experience in public health dentistry, providing a wide range of dental services to patients of all ages, including young children.

He is passionate about helping patients improve their overall health through preventive care and conservative treatment approaches. Outside of dentistry, Dr. Shukla enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf and pickleball, and exploring new foods.
